Leigh Burden has been in Virginia education finance for over 25 years. She currently serves as the Assistant Superintendent of Financial Services for Fairfax County Public Schools, a position she has held since March 2018. Ms. Burden was previously the Assistant Superintendent for Business and Financial Services for Loudoun County Public Schools, and Director of Financial Services for Manassas City Schools from May 2000 to June 2007. Prior to that, she served as Budget Coordinator and Financial Analyst for Arlington County Public Schools. Ms. Burden is a frequent Virginia School Board Association (VSBA) presenter of financial topics. Ms. Burden earned her master of public administration degree from Virginia Tech. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Radford University.
