Dr. Gregory C. Hutchings, Jr. began his tenure as superintendent of schools in Alexandria City Public Schools on July 1, 2018 after serving five years as superintendent in the Shaker Heights City Schools (Ohio). Dr. Hutchings' areas of expertise include strategic thinking, educational policy, strategic planning and educational leadership. He has led several workshops for aspiring superintendents in the AASA and Howard University's Urban Superintendents Program as well as facilitated workshops on strategic planning in North America and Europe.
