2018 VSBA Annual Convention

In support of the Commonwealth’s Profile of a Virginia Graduate, Goochland County Public Schools collaborated with a broad range of stakeholders to create their own local Profile of a Goochland Graduate. This work spanned 18 months and included school staff, parents, students, leaders from the military as well as from local business and industry. Division leadership team members worked closely with the school-community’s eight highly active advisory committees, including the CTE advisory committee, gifted advisory, minority student achievement advisory, STEM advisory, and the special education advisory. Goochland’s framework is a strong example of how division’s can personalize the Profile of a Virginia Graduate to reflect the local community, support the school division’s strategic plan, and prepare students to be prepared for success after high school.
