This dynamic training session assists with bridging the gap between teachers and their African American and Latino male students while offering new concepts on how to connect with today's youth in the classroom. The workshop is impactful for teachers and school leaders who desire a better comprehension of the influence that pop culture, music, and media have on African American and Latino boys. During the session we explore some of the stereotypes that are portrayed in the media and examine how they affect learning and achievement. We will also shed light on how to use positive elements from pop culture to reach goals in the classroom and increase the graduation rate for African American and Latino males.
