2018 VSBA Annual Convention

Ten percent of students in grades K to 12 report being the target of sexual misconduct by a school employee, most often a teacher or a coach.  These children have life-long responses to the trauma they faced.  As arrests increase , so too, do civil suits against school districts with settlements and awards ranging from 1 to 30 million dollars. This talk will present a standard of care for the prevention of employee sexual misconduct that school districts can use as a guide for keeping students safe.
